There is so much to learn when it comes to Budgies/Parakeets. How do you know where to start! this blog is a great place to start our website offers much more detail on all of these topics if you decided to deep dive into a topic.

Pet Store Purchased Food

Food purchased from a pet store has its place but it should never make up the majority of your budgies diet. I make a homemade seed mix out of a whole bunch of seeds from the grocery store. I also make them up a veggie mix with as many veggies as possible. I feed pellets on rare occasion, I know… everyone tells you pellets are the holy grail but pellets are not a complete diet, nothing is. Majority of pellets are heat pressed which basically means that any nutrients that where once in that pellet are baked out of it.
